We are seeking an organised and sharp finance officer preferably with strong accounts payable experience to join us for an exciting 12- 14 month (full time or part time up to 19 hours a week) maternity leave cover starting July 2025

At Mitchell Shire Council the Finance Officer works with all areas of the organisation to provide a customer-focused finance service.

You would be responsible for:

  • Processing invoices, purchase orders, and payments with accuracy
  • Maintaining supplier records and resolving account queries
  • Supporting month-end closing and reporting tasks
  • Working closely with finance and other teams to ensure smooth operations

This role is a fixed term, part time / full time opportunity with remuneration beginning at $71.3K (Band 4) plus superannuation (pro-rata).

About You

Our ideal candidate will have the following experience/attributes:

  • Excellent verbal, written and numerical abilities.
  • Be capable of working independently and with high attention to detail
  • Ensure processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Extensive use of computers and database maintenance.
  • People focused and outcomes driven and be able to work with enthusiasm and in a positive manner.
