About the Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity is available for an exceptional and experienced individual to support the Mitchell Shire community and join our Mitchell Children’s Services leadership team.

About the role

Working as part of a team, the CALD Outreach Officer will work directly with families and services to support inclusion and ongoing participation, and address engagement barriers to education.

This role will focus on supporting culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) children and their families to engage and attend kindergarten services and successfully transition to school.

This position will work closely with the Children’s Services team to build capacity of families and services providers, support referral pathways, foster connection and collaboration between families and education providers, and embed inclusion and equality for all.

What we are looking for

We are looking for applicants who are motivated and enthusiastic professionals dedicated to building the capacity of others in a collaborative and supportive team environment, fostering wellbeing, advocacy, and excellence.  

As a valued member of the Children's Services team, our ideal candidate will be skilled, qualified and have the ability to:

  1. Demonstrate capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team with ability to build collaborative working relationships
  2. Ability to relate, engage and work with a diverse range of people and groups within a multicultural environment, with a commitment to improving the customer experience.
  3. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills
  4. Demonstrated understanding of childhood development, engagement, assessment and referral frameworks
  5. Knowledge and understanding of working within the MARAM, Mandatory Reporting and Child Safe Standards frameworks
  6. Experience in using computer-based client management and Microsoft programs
  7. Early Childhood Teaching Qualification as approved by ACECQA and recognised under the National Law is preferred

This role is a temporary part time opportunity. Remuneration begins at $88.9K to $96.7K. Band 6, pro rata plus superannuation, and dependant on qualifications and experience.
