With a current population of more than 64,000 residents and forecast growth to over 220,000 by 2046, there has never been a more exciting time to join Mitchell Shire Council. As we continue to grow, so do the opportunities to make a genuine difference to our community and help shape the future of one of Victoria's most dynamic municipalities.
At Mitchell Shire Council, you'll be part of a progressive, inclusive and supportive organisation that values collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. Together, we work as One Mitchell, guided by our values of Trusted, Engaged and Innovative.
About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate leader to join Mitchell Shire Council as our Youth Services Team Leader on a 12-month parental leave back fill opportunity commencing approximately 24 August 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Youth Services leader or an emerging leader ready to take the next step in their career, leading a dedicated team and making a meaningful impact in one of Victoria's fastest-growing municipalities.
In this role, you will lead a dedicated Youth Services team delivering programs, events, outreach initiatives and engagement opportunities for young people aged 12–24 years across Mitchell Shire. Working closely with schools, community organisations, service providers and young people themselves, you will help shape services that are responsive, inclusive and reflective of local needs.

You will join a supportive and collaborative team committed to creating positive outcomes for young people and strengthening communities across Mitchell Shire. The role offers the opportunity to influence service direction, lead a talented team and contribute to one of Victoria's fastest-growing municipalities.
This is a temporary full-time parental leave back fill position for a period of up to 12 months commencing approximately 24 August 2026, with a Fortnightly ADO.
Remuneration for this position is $105.5K per annum (Band 7) plus superannuation.
