About the Opportunity
As a Library Services Officer, you will help deliver welcoming, responsive and high-quality customer and library services across Mitchell Shire. This casual role supports the day-to-day operation of our library branches, helping customers access information, collections, technology, programs and Council services in a positive and inclusive environment.
A key focus of the role is providing excellent customer service. You will welcome customers, assist with Council and library enquiries, support borrowing and membership, help people use library technology and digital resources and help manage our collections.
The role will also support the delivery of library programs and activities. This may include delivering Storytime, children’s activities, school holiday programs, technology help sessions and adult social connection programs.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working with the community, is flexible and practical, and is comfortable supporting a wide range of customer service, library and program delivery tasks across our branches.
This is a casual opportunity.
Remuneration begins at $50.36/hour (Band 4) plus superannuation.

About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering great outcomes and enjoys working collaboratively with others.
You will bring strong communication skills, confidence working with people of different ages and backgrounds, and the ability to respond calmly and helpfully to a wide range of customer needs. Experience in customer service, libraries, community services, education, technology support, programs or events would be highly regarded.
You will be comfortable helping customers with basic technology, including computers, mobile devices, printing, online forms and digital library resources. You will also be willing to deliver library programs and activities, including children’s activities, storytime, technology help and adult social connection programs.
The successful applicant will be flexible, organised and team-oriented, with a commitment to providing safe, positive and inclusive service experiences for children, families, older adults and the wider community.
