About the Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to lead a diverse and high-impact operational portfolio within Council’s Operations and Assets Directorate.
As the Facilities Management and Business Services Coordinator, you will provide strategic leadership and operational direction across Council’s Facilities Management and Business Services functions. You will lead the delivery of facilities maintenance and contract management services, while also overseeing a multidisciplinary Business Services team that supports the wider department through strong systems, processes and administrative coordination.
This role will suit a highly organised and solutions-focused leader who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with operational delivery.
In this role you will:
- Lead the strategic management of Council’s building maintenance and facilities operations
- Oversee major contracts, compliance obligations and service delivery frameworks
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, business systems optimisation and operational efficiencies
- Lead and support a collaborative Business Services team delivering corporate and administrative support functions
- Provide high-level advice to senior leaders on facilities strategy, asset performance and operational risk
- Support emergency management and business continuity planning functions across Council
This role is a permanent full-time opportunity with a Monthly ADO. Remuneration begins at $119.2K to $133.3K (Band 8) plus superannuation.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be a confident and collaborative leader with strong operational, contract management and stakeholder engagement experience.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in facilities management, operational leadership or service delivery environments
- Strong understanding of contract management, compliance and business improvement frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in complex operational environments
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and customer service
Experience within local government or a similarly regulated environment will be highly regarded.
