About the Opportunity

This position will support environmental recovery and resilience-building initiatives following the January 2026 Longwood Fire. Working in partnership with the recovery team, the successful candidate will contribute to the planning, coordination and delivery of activities that protect and restore environmental values, strengthen community capacity, and support long-term recovery outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering environmental and biodiversity recovery actions in accordance with the Longwood Fire Recovery Plan.
• Undertaking post-fire environmental assessments, monitoring programs and site inspections.
• Engaging with and supporting landholders to implement recovery activities and sustainable land management practices.
• Supporting community education, engagement and resilience-building activities that promote environmental recovery and preparedness for future events.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to environmental restoration and community recovery following a significant natural disaster event.

This is a temporary 12 month, part-time (60.80 hours per fortnight) opportunity.

Remuneration for part time hours begins at $62.8K to $71.6K (Band 5) plus superannuation.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering great environmental outcomes and enjoys working collaboratively with others.

You will have:

• A strong interest and practical knowledge of natural resource management and/or land management with qualifications in Environmental management, Natural Resource Management or similar.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus and highly developed written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated high level computer skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and spatial mapping systems.
