Kindergarten Family Liaison Officer 

2-3 day contract, job share position with the possibility of permanent part time

A fantastic opportunity is available for an exceptional and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to join our Mitchell Kindergarten Service leadership team.

This exciting role is looking for a dynamic and highly skilled teacher with extensive experience and knowledge in early childhood intervention, trauma informed practice specifically within the context of the kindergarten and supporting families, inclusive best practice approaches, and a building the capacity of others.

About the role

This is a job share role working directly with our kindergarten teams and families to enhance support opportunities and outcomes for children and families. The Family Liaison Officer will develop case management plans and referrals with families, support our teaching teams in the kindergarten setting, and inform and guide the development of best practice early intervention frameworks and processes.

This role requires an understanding of best practice and theoretical knowledge on child development, and family life cycles, with outstanding professional judgment and decision-making on engagement, assessment, and intervention with children and young families.

As a valued member of the Children's Services team, our ideal candidate will be skilled, qualified and have the ability to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team setting and ability to build collaborative working relationships
  • Knowledge and understanding of working within the MARAM, Mandatory Reporting and Child Safe Standards frameworks
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing, utilising an understanding of evaluative frameworks
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of childhood development, family life cycles, engagement, assessment, referral and intervention, and incorporating crisis and early intervention from strong theoretical frameworks
  • Early Childhood Teaching Qualification as approved by ACECQA and recognised under the National Law, preferably 4 year trained, with level 3 exemplary desired

Position details

This position has flexible work arrangements located between the Wallan Community Services Hub, Mitchell Kindergarten Service sites and opportunities to work from home by agreement.

This position will job share 2-3 days per week, with an opportunity for permanent part time in the future. Remuneration is dependent on qualifications and experience and starts at $88.9k (pro rata, Band 6) plus superannuation
